Rrampt’s Whisky & Blues
Rrampt is kicking off 2020 with an event so good, we don’t even know where to start. We’ve brought the Juno-award winning sounds of Steve Strongman together with the smooth flavour of Dixon’s Distilled Spirits’ Trickle Down Rye in an event that’s been so popular over the years, it’s sold out weeks before anyone even step foot into the beautiful Heartwood Concert Hall. We suggest getting your tickets early for this one! A Christmas present perhaps?
On January 25, 2020, we’re opening the doors at 8pm to let Dixon’s Distilled Spirits do their thing – they’ll be in house to sample their Trickle Down Rye, made 100% from Canadian rye, corn, and water. You can chat with the Dixon’s crew about their process, and then order one of their signature cocktails from the bar. We’ll also have their legendary Gin and Vodka stocked at the bar, as well, for all your cocktail needs.
At 9pm, Canadian blues legend Steve Strongman will take the stage hot off his 2019 release “Tired of Talkin” to play two sets of high energy Canadian blues. Having opened for BB King, Buddy Guy, and Jonny Winters, he’s been making a serious name for himself since his breakthrough “A Natural Fact” earned him Maple Blues Awards for Recording, Songwriter, and Guitarist Of The Year as well as a 2013 Juno Award for Blues Recording Of The Year.
In 2014 he was thrice-nominated at the Maple Blues Awards (Guitar Player, Electric Act, and Entertainer of the Year) and in 2015 received a second Juno nod for Blues Album of the Year (for Let Me Prove It To You). In 2018, No Time Like Now, was a Juno award nominee for Blues Album of the Year and in 2019, Strongman won Best Guitarist for the Solo Duo Category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.
His 2019 release “Tired of Talkin” is earning rave reviews and showcases why Strongman is one of the most exciting performers on the scene today.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. You can find them on Eventbrite and at Heartwood Home.
This is a 19+ event.
