SOUVENIRS ~ Remembering John Prine, featuring a cast of top shelf Stage and Studio Musicians, will be performing a joyous imagining of "A John Prine Christmas", featuring the songs, stories and humour of the man that Kris Kristofferson once described as most likely "God's favourite Songwriter".

John Prine loved Christmas. When he recorded what would be his final studio album, 2018’s The Tree of Forgiveness, he dragged a lit-up Christmas tree that he kept in his office year-round to the recording studio in the middle of July. “I don’t like to see Christmas trees torn down,” he said. When he took his family to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City years ago, Prine “cried when Santa came out,” his wife recalled in 2016. “The colors, the lights, the idea of family, togetherness, bestowing gifts. It means a lot to him.”

Ever since he wrote “Hello in There” as a 24-year-old in 1971, John Prine has been America’s most beloved storyteller, sporting a grin with so much love that it could not hide. For 50 years, he converted his stages into front-porch storytime, offering three-four chord country-folk tales — some real, some imagined, usually both. His career was marked by multiple Awards, including multiple Grammy wins and nominations, a loyal following that grew as the generations go, and every accolade the Industry affords.
